Matt Mueller – President

Matt Mueller brings 13 years of capital markets and investment real estate experience, including more than 500 completed transactions.  As a broker he structured a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including investment, syndication, and development opportunities. Matt handled feasibility analyses for Fortune 500 companies as well as institutional and private investor clients. Prior to Versant, Matt led the Capital Markets and Structured Finance team for a consultancy firm providing nationwide commercial loan workout strategies in excess of $4B.  As Vice President, Matt implemented the financial analysis, sourcing of debt and equity, and modeling for over $500M in recapitalization assignments.

Quinn Palomino - Principal

Quinn Palomino is the Principal of Versant and an active Commercial Real Estate Investor.  Her experience spans over $2B of commercial real estate activities.  Quinn understands the complex nature of investment real estate, and offers investors individual, personalized service, with an emphasis on communication and transparency.  Quinn is also the Founder and Principal of Clear Vista Management, a real estate asset management company that provides specialized services to Tenant In Common investors and real estate owners. 

The Clear Vista portfolio consists of over 1.5 million square feet of real estate nationwide.  Prior to Versant & Clear Vista, Quinn was the Director of Business Development for a national commercial real estate consultancy providing workout and recapitalization services.  Previously, Quinn was a partner at a San Diego based construction and development company, where she worked on development projects with government agencies, including the California Department of Parks and Recreation and the City of Pittsburg, California Redevelopment Agency.

Nick Montague - Vice President, Finance

Nick Montague heads up the finance team at Versant. With over 10 years of real estate experience, Nick has analyzed over $3 billion of commercial real estate loans and investments opportunities. For the past four years he has worked with a commercial real estate workout and restructuring advisory company. Prior to this, his background includes over $500MM in underwriting analysis for a large CMBS lender and commercial real estate development on ground up mixed use and office properties. Nick has experience on a wide variety of commercial real estate property types across the country with specific focus on underwriting, proformas, valuations, complex joint ventures, capital structures and multi-tiered waterfalls. He received a BS from California State University, Long Beach with a double major in finance and international business. 

Derek Uldricks – Vice President, Business Development

Derek brings over 10 years of experience in business development, real estate finance, and construction management experience.  He began his career at JBT Incorporated, a San Diego based construction firm, where he managed a group of employees and aided in the implementation of designed floor plans.  He then joined Criterion Mortgage Corporation, a boutique loan originator, as a financial analyst where he provided debt underwriting and loan document review.  Derek then oversaw new business development, acquisitions, and client relations at a commercial real estate consulting firm.  During his tenure, Derek has consulted on over $200,000,000 of commercial real estate.  Derek graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Economics, a concentration in finance, and a minor in Accounting.

Samantha Randant – Vice President, Investor Relations

Samantha’s expertise in building and managing client relationships stems from both her education and professional experience. Her real estate career began at California Title Company, where she worked as a title representative.  Samantha worked with some of the top real estate agents in the country closing multi-million dollar residential real estate transactions across the nation. Following California Title Company, Samantha joined BluFi Lending, a direct mortgage lender. While there she was able to learn the direct lending aspect of residential real estate.  Samantha then brought her transaction and customer service experience to a national real estate consulting firm where she focused on new Business Development. While focusing on new business development and client relations, Samantha assisted investors, in both distressed and non-distressed assets, decide on the best course of action for maximizing the return on their investments based on their individual financial scenarios.  Samantha graduated with high distinction from the University of California, San Diego earning her B.A. by double majoring in Communications and Literature.

Joe Whalen – Acquisition Associate

Joe came to Versant from JPMorganChase where he managed a diverse team of banking and finance professionals. During that time, he was directly responsible for forecasting revenue and sales, expanding client base, and deepening existing client relationships. Prior to entering the finance field, Joe was a career officer and pilot in the United States Navy. During that time he amassed more than 4,000 military flight hours and was deployed in support of various campaigns worldwide. Joe graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi and earned his B.A. from Boston University.
